Under his leadership, the team began to look organized and competitive again. In just half a season, Contini lifted the club to third place — a strong late surge that suggests the potential for a full-season title push. Preseason results have been solid, and expectations are again high in Bern.

Servette have made clear progress in recent years. The Garnets have had a turbulent history. Though they won 17 league titles, financial collapse two decades ago pushed them all the way down to the third division. Under head coach Thomas Häberli, who previously managed Estonia’s national team, the team has developed a solid, attacking identity. The board has backed him further this summer, and the signing of Slovakian forward Mraz — who scored 16 goals last season in Poland — looks particularly promising. They now seem well-equipped to challenge for silverware again.
Last season started with a win for the Garnets, but Young Boys responded with two victories and a draw in the next three meetings. This is a clash between two strong sides, but the Yellow and Blacks have home advantage — and should take all three points in Bern.
