Personally, I feel sorry for both Burnley and Vincent Kompany in particular. But objectively, at the moment, Burnley are the weakest team in the Premier League alongside Sheffield United. The Clarets have already played their match in the round, ultimately surpassing the Bordeaux and moving them to the bottom of the table. I don't know if this is temporary or not, but I see no prerequisites for Burnley even hinting at a fight for survival. In the last four rounds of the championship, the team suffered four defeats: 1-3 against Liverpool, 0-5 against Arsenal, 0-3 against Crystal Palace, and 0-2 against Bournemouth. Overall, Kompany's wards have already lost 20 matches in the Premier League out of 27 rounds.
For me, this match is quite simple. Unless there is a major upset and the Hammers themselves don't complicate matters, they must take three points in the duel against the weakest team in the championship. I believe that even the fact that the team played in the League Cup during the week won't hinder them. Burnley are just too awful. In the first round of this season, the Iron Men prevailed over the Clarets away from home (2-1). Victory at home should be even more certain for the favorites.
