Tottenham take on the visitors Crystal Palace in the round 29 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Thursday, March 5th at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London).
Tottenham finally won a trophy last season after a very long pause — lifting the Europa League. However, even before the final, Postecoglou knew he would be dismissed regardless of the outcome due to the disastrous 17th-place finish in the Premier League. He was replaced by Frank, who seemed to start fairly well, although in the UEFA Super Cup they squandered a two-goal advantage and lost to PSG on penalties. Results in the league never truly stabilized, with brief positive spells followed by costly defeats that kept them under pressure. Even at home, where they traditionally rely on strong support, consistency has been lacking in recent months. By February, the only relatively positive outcome was in the Champions League, where they reached the knockout stage from a leading position in the group. On the domestic stage, however, they were knocked out of both cups and slipped into the lower half of the Premier League table amid a series of defeats. As a result, ahead of the derby against Arsenal, the Dane was dismissed, and Tudor was appointed until the summer. That match, however, ended in yet another heavy defeat — 1–4. Against another neighbor, Fulham, they still lost, albeit narrowly, 1–2. The relegation zone has drawn even closer.

Crystal Palace are trying to reboot their season. The Eagles achieved a historic breakthrough in 2025. First, they ended last season by winning the FA Cup — effectively the first major trophy in the club’s history. A couple of months later, they added the Super Cup. They also began the Premier League campaign well and successfully advanced to the knockout stage of the Conference League. Early in the season they looked energetic and well-organized, especially in transition play, which allowed them to collect valuable points. Their confidence was evident during their unbeaten run across competitions before the winter break. However, in winter everything started to fall apart quickly — Guehi pushed for a transfer, Mateta struggled with a serious injury, and Glasner made it clear he would leave in the summer to coach elsewhere. As a result, the team even suffered an embarrassing cup defeat to semi-professional Macclesfield and sharply declined in the Premier League. Yes, they managed to beat Wolverhampton, but in the latest round they lost again — 1–2 to Manchester United. In the Conference League tie with Zrinjski it was not easy either, yet after a draw away they secured a home victory.
In the last four meetings between the London neighbors, each side has two wins. It is possible that the Spurs will finally claim a victory. However, it is worth considering a bet on their neighbors at least avoiding defeat.
Prediction for the match: Crystal Palace not to lose (X2).
