Pardubice, by Czech standards, are a young football project, having been founded only in 2008. They started with regional Bohemian competitions and received an invitation to the FNL, the local second division, in 2012 because Hradec Kralove, more successful in sporting terms, had a stadium that did not meet licensing requirements. However, the newcomer did not get lost there; on the contrary, they broke into the country's top league after eight years. There, they have remained without particularly notable successes. Their debut season, finishing 7th, was their best, followed by finishes of 11th, 14th, and, in the spring, 12th. They signed a couple of free agents, like Pecha, but overall, it’s unlikely that significant breakthroughs should be expected from the club – they will again be fighting to maintain their residency in the country's elite division.
