Spain vs France Prediction 9 July 2024

Spain take on France in the semifinal match of UEFA Euro 2024. The match will be played on Tuesday, July 9th at Allianz Arena (Munich).

Spain was considered a promising team even before the tournament started. They were semifinalists in the last Euro, won the Nations League under the current coach, and easily passed the qualifiers, despite losing to Scotland. The only concerns were the abundance of young players, including the teenager Yamal, and the absence of recognized superstars. But so far, they've achieved a lot, if not everything. Starting the tournament against experienced and strong opponents like Croatia and Italy, they deservedly won both matches with clean sheets. After a victory with a reserve lineup over Albania and a calm passage to the round of 16 against Georgia (a confident 4-1 win despite an own goal by Le Normand), they faced a real test against Germany. The Germans managed to avoid defeat in regular time, scoring in the 89th minute, but in the final minutes of extra time, substitute Merino became the hero, brilliantly finishing a cross into Neuer's top corner. However, due to accumulated yellow cards, they lost Le Normand and Carvajal for the next match.

France achieved results but lacked spectacle. Les Bleus were considered one of the tournament's most obvious favorites. Understandably so: Deschamps' team won the World Cup in 2018 and only lost the title to Argentina in the final penalty shootout in Qatar. However, the team hasn't shone in Euro tournaments. And in Germany, their attacking group has been frankly disappointing. Victories over Austria in the group stage and Belgium in the round of 16 were secured by own goals. The only goal scored by Mbappe was from a penalty against Poland, and that match ended in a 1-1 draw. There were no goals at all against the Netherlands and, in the quarterfinals, against Portugal. Fortunately, Maignan won the penalty shootout, sending the Gallic Roosters to the next round.

In the last four matches between these giants, victories have strictly alternated between them. The odds are roughly equal, but La Furia Roja has garnered more support. Bet on Spain to win with a handicap of 0.

Prediction for the match: Spain to win with 0.0 handicap.
