Sirius take on the visitors Malmo in the round 15 match of Swedish Allsvenskan. The match will be played on Friday, July 19th at Studenternas IP (Uppsala).
Sirius have already fallen far behind the top three, but they are still at a safe distance from the relegation zone. Of course, the team is not as strong as Malmö. However, I think they can put up a decent fight against the league leaders on their home turf. At home this season, Sirius has been good, suffering only two defeats in seven Allsvenskan matches, one of which was by a minimal margin. They haven't lost in their last four league matches at home, having drawn with Göteborg (2-2) and Västerås (0-0), and then successively defeating Norrköping (5-1) and GAIS (3-1).

Malmö has managed just one win in their last three league matches. This is largely because two of those games were away. At home, the Sky Blues have been flawless, not dropping any points. However, away from home, they've only won four out of eight matches, and one of those victories was by a narrow margin. Malmö hasn't won in their last three away league matches, drawing with Häcken (2-2) and Brommapojkarna (2-2) and losing to Mjällby (1-2). I think it will be very challenging for the reigning champions even against Sirius away.
Bookmakers understandably favor Malmö, the league leaders, which is not surprising. However, in my opinion, it won't be an easy walk in the park for the Sky Blues. They play brilliantly at home this season, but they've won only 50% of their away matches. Sirius, on the other hand, can put up a fight against almost any opponent at home and rarely loses on their turf in this Allsvenskan campaign. The head-to-head statistics favor Malmö, and that fact can't be ignored. But if we look at the last three meetings on Sirius' territory, we'll see that the favorite won by a two-goal margin only once. In one instance, Sirius lost 2-3, and in another, they even triumphed over the Swedish football giant (2-1). Additionally, one of the important midfielders for the Sky Blues, Peruvian Sergio Peña (12 matches, 2 assists), is still out injured. Therefore, I'll take a handicap (+1.5) on the hosts.
Prediction for the match: Sirius to win with +1.5 handicap.
