Shakhtar Donetsk finished last year’s Premier League campaign in third place — their lowest position in a quarter of a century. Breidablik are clearly not at their best right now. The “Blikar” have won three national titles, two of them very recently in 2022 and 2024, but the momentum has faded. This season, they have fallen about fifteen points behind leaders Víkingur Reykjavik, and even second place is far from secure.
