Qarabag take on the visitors Dinamo Zagreb in the second leg of final round of UEFA Champions League qualification. First leg result: 0-3. The match will be played on Wednesday, August 28th at Tofiq Bahramov Stadium (Baku).
Qarabag unexpectedly raised the white flag in their first Champions League clash against Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat. This result leaves the "Horsemen" from Aghdam with no choice in the return leg but to launch a relentless and aggressive attack on the opponent's goal. Such an open and attacking strategy is likely to set the stage for a high-scoring encounter. Previously, Qarabag put on some truly entertaining and high-scoring displays in the current Champions League qualifiers, particularly in matches against Gibraltar's Lincoln (5-0 at home) and Bulgaria's Ludogorets (1-2, 3-2, 7-2 after extra time), where at least 3 goals were scored.

As for Dinamo Zagreb, a club with a solid track record on the international stage, they now have every reason to see themselves in the prestigious and lucrative group stage of this year's Champions League. I highly doubt the Croatian giants will simply sit back and defend the favorable result from the first game. Doing so would be risky against such an experienced and dangerous opponent as Qarabag. Therefore, it’s easy to imagine that the visitors will also look to be active in attack. They were a real threat to the opposition’s defense in the previous match in Croatia’s capital. In fact, they had a great opportunity to put the tie beyond doubt in the dying moments of the match, when Martin Baturina hit the post from a good position in the 95th minute.
As we can see, Dinamo does not sit back, even with a 3-0 lead in their favor. The team has hit the over 2.5 goals total in each of their last six matches. It’s also worth noting that in their last four away games, Dinamo has scored at least 2 goals each time (including two hat-tricks in these matches). Additionally, defenders Petkovic, Moharrami, and Peric will not feature for the visitors. As a result, I expect no fewer than three goals in this match, at decent odds.
Prediction for the match: Over 2.5 goals scored.
