Pyunik Yerevan take on the visitors Dinamo Minsk in the second leg of 1/8-finals of EUFA Champions League qualification. First leg result: 0-0. The match will be played on Tuesday, July 16th at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium (Yerevan).
Pyunik are a relatively young project, founded in the early 1990s. However, in almost half of the seasons they've played, they have managed to crown their efforts with a championship title. They even reclaimed the "gold" after a one-time pause. Where they struggle, though, is on the European stage – dreaming of performing at the level of "Qarabağ" from neighboring Azerbaijan remains a distant hope. Nevertheless, two years ago, this representative of the Caucasus did play in the group stage of the Conference League, and last summer, they were stopped at the last moment by "Bodø/Glimt." Now, in a technically away match, they ended goalless, gaining a certain advantage for the return leg.

Dynamo (Minsk) has finally returned to the leading positions in Belarusian football. The "White-Blues" were champions of the Soviet Union and reached the USSR Cup final several times, also making some noise in European competitions in the 1980s. Initially, during the early years of independence, the authoritative capital project dominated, but gradually lost its position, and after 2004, they did not take "gold," at best finishing second. It wasn't until 2023 that they finally made a breakthrough, with a long-awaited championship. It seems they are ready to continue this success immediately: the flagship team from Minsk has already pulled away from the rest, with only "Neman" from Grodno appearing on the horizon, though practically with only theoretical chances of claiming first place. Now, the "Dynamo" team will try to show that they are ready to improve on the international stage, where they haven't achieved much in a long time. Starting technically at home, the club didn't score, but they also didn't concede, shifting the decisive moment to Yerevan.
The Armenians are too young and couldn't have played against the Belarusians during the Soviet period. After that, they haven't even organized a friendly match. The chances here are considered equal. This likely won't be a spectacular match – we predict that this football game will end with "total under 2.5 goals."
Prediction for the match: Under 2.5 scored goals.
