Poland vs Albania Prediction 26 March 2026

Poland take on the visitors Albania in semifinal match of FIFA World Cup promotion. The match will be played on Thursday, March 26th at PGE Narodowy (Warsaw).

Poland missed the 2014 World Cup, but since then they have taken part in every major competition. However, at the Euros two years ago, they once again failed to get out of the group. Then came a disappointing Nations League campaign. Nevertheless, in the most recent qualification in 2024, Lewandowski and company performed largely as expected. They were unable to seriously challenge the group favorites, the Netherlands (although both matches against them ended 1-1). In the end, they finished second due to their own slip, losing 1-2 to Finland. The price for that is high: now, to reach another tournament, they will have to get past two clearly difficult opponents. Their recent results show that Poland remain solid at home, but they often struggle to fully convert that advantage into comfortable wins.

Albania hope to confirm that they can maintain a decent level. The “Red and Blacks” first made a statement about a decade ago by qualifying for the Euros. Back then, the debutants even managed to win one match. In 2024, already under Sylvinho, they managed only one draw, but overall impressed with their fighting spirit in a “group of death” alongside Croatia, Italy, and Spain. Last year, they also came out on top in a principled battle with Serbia for second place in the group — England were out of reach by default. Albania lost only to them, twice, while also dropping points through draws with Serbia and, unexpectedly, Latvia. So it is certainly not a team that will be easy to overcome — in hostile Belgrade last November, they secured a decisive 1-0 win, which means they will not be intimidated in Warsaw either. Their recent form suggests they are especially dangerous when playing as underdogs and can capitalize on limited chances.

Poland had been unbeaten in all 11 head-to-head matches and had won 8 in a row. However, in 2023 they lost away to the “Eagles” 0-2. Poland are considered clear favorites. But it seems the visitors can make use of their “underdog” status — the pick is Albania with a +1 handicap.

Prediction for the match: Albania to win with +1.0 handicap.
