Parma take on the visitors Juventus in the round 33 match of Italian Serie A. The match will be played on Monday, April 21st at Stadio Ennio Tardini (Parma).
Parma have experienced all sorts of highs and lows throughout their history, from European success in their golden era at the turn of the century to complete bankruptcy. After such a dramatic fall, they managed to climb back to Serie A and even flirted with European qualification — only to tumble back down to Serie B due to mismanagement from new owners. They returned to the top flight just a year ago. The team started the current season well, collecting four points from their opening two games against Fiorentina and Milan. But results soon took a dip, and after a long winless run, the club decided to change head coach. Adrian Mutu made an immediate impact with a vital win over Champions League side Bologna, followed by a narrow loss to Udinese. Since then, Parma have found a rhythm, stringing together several draws to steadily distance themselves from the relegation zone. They even managed to hold Fiorentina to a goalless draw in a well-organized defensive display. Their resilience and compact structure have made them a tough opponent this spring.

Juventus are trying to salvage their season. The Old Lady managed to break free from a prolonged slump last season, finishing third in Serie A and also lifting the Coppa Italia. However, despite that success, the club parted ways with Allegri before summer and made significant changes to the squad. They brought in Thiago Motta, impressed by his work at Bologna. But the young coach, who had led a mid-table side into the Champions League, failed to replicate his success on the bigger stage. Juventus lost the Supercoppa to Milan, crashed out of the Coppa Italia on penalties against Empoli, and were eliminated from the Champions League by PSV after trading 2–1 home wins and conceding a late goal in Eindhoven. In Serie A, an already shaky start turned into a full collapse by spring.
The club acted during the international break, bringing in Igor Tudor, a familiar face in Turin. The Croatian manager began with a narrow but important win over Genoa and followed that with a draw against Roma. Most recently, Juventus overcame Lecce 2–1 in a tense match, showing signs of regained confidence.
Before Parma’s relegation in 2021, Juventus had won four straight meetings. But earlier this season, the Old Lady were held to a draw by the Crusaders. The visitors are stronger and more motivated — we expect the Old Lady to come away with all three points.
Prediction for the match: Juventus to win.
