Osasuna take on the visitors Levante in the round 15 match of Spanish LaLiga. The match will be played on Monday, December 8th at Estadio El Sadar (Pamplona).
Osasuna have never been a flashy team. But under Arrasate, who worked until 2024, they not only moved away from the constant threat of relegation to the Segunda (where Jagoba once coached them), but even earned the right to play in the Conference League — although they were knocked out immediately in the first qualifying round. After his departure, last season they missed out on 8th place to Rayo Vallecano only on tiebreakers. Liski took over in summer, but things have been going poorly — losing most of their matches and averaging less than a point per round. And their last league match also ended in a draw, this time with Mallorca. In the cup this week they finally managed to win, beating Ebro 5–3. Despite the mixed results, Osasuna continue to show that they can be competitive at home, often putting up more resistance than their league position suggests. However, their struggles in converting performances into consistent points remain the main factor dragging them into the lower part of the table.

Levante risk failing to establish themselves at the level they fought so hard to regain. The Frogs have also played in European competitions once, and far more convincingly than the Reds. They made a splash in the Europa League and even reached the knockout stages. On the other hand, the team spent recent years in the Segunda and only returned after last season. Back then Julián Calero, who achieved promotion, became a local hero. But at the higher level he and his players understandably struggled. Their victories came only against clearly weak opponents such as Oviedo and Girona, as well as in the cup. In their last cup outing they once again won, beating modest Siesa 1–0. But in the league their latest run consisted solely of defeats. The crisis-hit Athletic beat them 2–0 — and despite all his achievements, the coach was dismissed afterward. Levante’s performances suggest that the step up in competition has exposed their limitations, especially in defensive stability. Their inability to build momentum across consecutive league matches leaves them vulnerable in tight encounters.
Out of the last five meetings, the Reds won three and lost just one. However, the sides have not faced each other since spring 2022. The newcomer, especially at home, simply has to be beaten.
Prediction for the match: Osasuna to win.
