Osasuna vs Barcelona Prediction 2 May 2026

Osasuna take on the visitors Barcelona in the round 34 match of Spanish LaLiga. The match will be played on Saturday, May 2nd at Estadio El Sadar (Pamplona).

Pamplona side Osasuna, coached by Alessio Lisci, currently sit 9th in La Liga, just two points behind the top six and the European spots. However, it is doubtful that “Los Rojillos” have enough resources to sustain a real push for those positions. Recently, their form has been inconsistent, with several matches where they struggled to control the game and convert chances. Even their wins often come with difficulty, requiring late efforts or moments of individual brilliance. In their last outing, they ended a three-match winless streak by narrowly beating Sevilla FC 2-1, dramatically turning the game around. The Andalusians scored first with 20 minutes to go, but Osasuna equalized ten minutes later and snatched victory in the 99th minute. That win allowed them to move eight points clear of the relegation zone, virtually securing their place in the division, but now they face a much tougher test against FC Barcelona. Promising forward Víctor Muñoz will miss the match due to a muscle injury.

Barcelona approach this game on the back of eight wins in their last nine matches. No one doubts anymore that the Catalans will finish as champions of Spain, although they did take a step back in the UEFA Champions League and were eliminated in the cup semifinals. Their recent performances have been dominant, with confident wins and a high level of attacking efficiency. Even away from home, they have maintained control of matches and rarely allowed opponents to impose their style. Still, Hansi Flick remains a strong motivator and keeps his team fully focused despite having only league matches left. Last weekend, they comfortably beat Getafe CF 2-0 away, scoring once in each half. “Blaugrana” have won eight of their last nine games across competitions, and their squad depth has improved with several players returning recently. In Pamplona, Barcelona will once again play for victory, and if they win while Real Madrid CF drop points, they could secure the title early. They will be without Jules Koundé due to suspension and Lamine Yamal due to injury.

Osasuna are unlikely to be an exception. The Catalans already beat this opponent 2-0 in the first round and will be confident of repeating that result, especially given their strong head-to-head record. Barcelona have won eight of the last nine meetings between the sides, underlining their dominance in this matchup. With the added motivation of potentially clinching the title in this round, the visitors should have enough quality and intensity to secure another victory.

Prediction for the match: Barcelona to win.
