Olympiacos remind the world of Greek football ambitions. The Legend is rightfully considered the most successful club in Greece in recent times. However, for the second consecutive year, the giant, who used to consistently clinch the championship title, finished only in third place. But there's an important caveat this time: the Red-Whites made significant strides in European competitions. Notably, this success was achieved under Mendilibar, who won the Europa League with Sevilla last year. The Spaniard took over as head coach in February, and under his guidance, they knocked out Ferencváros (without much trouble), Maccabi Tel Aviv (losing 1-4 at home but staging a 6-1 comeback in the away leg), and a fierce rival like Fenerbahçe (winning on penalties after trading narrow home victories). The Greeks particularly impressed by easily defeating Aston Villa, beating Emery's team 4-2 in Birmingham and 2-0 in Piraeus.

Fiorentina have only slightly fallen short of their 2023 level in the cup. Last year, they lost in the final match for the trophy; this time, after winning the first semifinal leg at home against Atalanta, they suffered a heavy defeat in the return leg. In Serie A, their recent results have been promising, giving hope of repeating their 2022/2023 finish, with an 8th place in the final standings. However, to achieve this, they need to win their remaining match against the same Bergamaschi and hope for slip-ups from their competitors – not the best odds. Clearly, Vincenzo Italiano's main hopes lie in the Conference League. Last year, they lost the final to West Ham, and this summer they started the qualification with a loss in Vienna. However, they confidently defeated Rapid, and thus began an unbeaten streak that continues to this day. In the playoffs, they have secured wins and draws against all opponents – another Maccabi, but from Haifa, Viktoria Plzeň (strictly speaking, they drew 0-0 in both Plzeň and at home, only scoring twice in extra time), and Club Brugge.
This will be the first meeting between these clubs. The Italians are considered clear favorites in this match. However, the Greeks have their own significant strengths – we believe they won't lose in regular time.
