Manchester City take on the visitors Leeds in the round 13 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Saturday, November 29th at Etihad Stadium (Manchester).
Manchester City are trying to climb back to the top, but not everything is going their way. The Citizens became the undisputed dominant force in English football under Pep, and eventually claimed the Champions League title as well. However, last season finally brought Guardiola the serious challenge many had been waiting for: his team began to drop points more often and struggled to impose their usual level of control. Even after strengthening the squad in January, all they managed was to climb to third place in the Premier League, while suffering an early Champions League exit, losing the FA Cup final, and producing an underwhelming Club World Cup campaign. There were a couple of defeats in August too, but overall City looked strong in autumn — including a commanding 3–0 win over Liverpool. Yet after the international break their form clearly dipped. First, Newcastle beat the favourites in the previous league round. And earlier this week, Bayer scored two unanswered goals against them in the Champions League. Recent performances show a noticeable drop in intensity, and their defensive stability has also been far from convincing. City urgently need to reset the momentum to avoid falling further behind the league leaders.

Leeds returned to the Premier League under Bielsa and managed to stay there for several seasons, though they parted ways with Marcelo relatively quickly. Farke, appointed after relegation in 2023, was given a second chance, and although he failed to bring Leeds straight back up, he achieved promotion last season. The main task now is, predictably, retaining their Premier League status. So far, however, that mission is proving difficult: after opening with a 1–0 win over Everton, they added only victories over crisis-hit Wolverhampton and West Ham, while since October they have mostly been losing. Even Aston Villa managed a 2–1 win against them away in the previous round. Their current run reflects an ongoing struggle to build consistency, especially against opponents from the upper half of the table. Unless they stabilise defensively and improve their away form, the pressure in the relegation battle will continue to grow.
Manchester City have won all four of the most recent meetings between the sides. Guardiola’s team should finally wake up. We expect them to beat the struggling newcomers with a -1.5 goal handicap.
Prediction for the match: Manchester City to win with -1.5 handicap.
