Greece was very close to making it to the European Championship, and this happened twice. Yes, the national team has improved in recent years, but apparently not enough to compete in major tournaments just yet. However, there is no doubt that today's Greek team is of a higher caliber than the Maltese. In March, the "Hellenes" thrashed a relatively decent Kazakhstan side 5-0, drew with France 2-2, and in their most recent friendly, they scored against Germany but ultimately lost 1-2. During the group stage of Euro qualification, they beat Ireland in a match that went over 2.5 goals (2-1). And that's not to mention their victories over Gibraltar (3-0 and 5-0). The point is that Greece is fine in attack, but they are also capable of conceding against almost any opponent.
I believe that in this matchup between two island nations, we will see at least three goals. The Maltese, on their home ground, could very well score at least one goal. Greece enters this match as the clear favorite and can theoretically cover the over 2.5 goals on their own. But I wouldn't be surprised if the hosts help the visitors in this regard. In their last friendly encounter, the opponents couldn't determine a winner, finishing the game with a mini-goal shootout (2-2). My prediction for another duel between the "Knights" and the "Hellenes" is over 2.5 goals.
