Liverpool take on the visitors PSG in the second leg of UEFA Europa League quarterfinals. First leg result: 0-2. The match will be played on Tuesday, April 14th at Anfield (Liverpool).
Liverpool last season, their first under Arne Slot, managed to win the title in impressive fashion — it was already clear a year ago that they would lift the trophy. However, the current campaign has exposed clear instability in results, especially against direct competitors, which has seriously affected their ambitions. The team no longer looks as dominant as before, often dropping points where it previously would have secured wins. Now there is serious disappointment in Arne, and according to rumors he could be replaced in the summer by Xabi Alonso. That is hardly surprising: the reigning Premier League champions, having spent hundreds of millions on new signings in the offseason, will finish at best in 4th place, and even that is under threat with so many competitors. In the cup they were heavily beaten 0–4 by Manchester City. Only in the UEFA Champions League have things gone relatively well — despite a couple of defeats, six wins secured them 3rd place. As a result, the playoffs started in March from the round of 16, where the English side again lost in Istanbul. Fortunately, at home they crushed Galatasaray 4–0 and confidently advanced to the next round — but there they were already waiting for a far more experienced opponent.

PSG do not look as convincing as they did a year ago. “Les Parisiens” in 2025 won almost every trophy, including the long-awaited UEFA Champions League. Recently, however, their performances have become less consistent, and the team has struggled to dominate matches as confidently as before. Even in domestic competitions, they have occasionally dropped points, which highlights a certain decline compared to their peak form. The only exception was a heavy defeat to Chelsea FC at the Club World Cup in the summer. They have already taken revenge on the English side, beating them convincingly twice in the round of 16. Incidentally, that was the first moment in this Champions League when the holders of the trophy — who are also struggling domestically against RC Lens and were knocked out of the cup by modest Paris FC — truly impressed. In the main round, they did win several matches, including in Barcelona, but with only four victories and 14 points they finished 11th. In March, they scored one goal more than AS Monaco — winning 3–2 away in comeback style and then drawing at home. Now, at the same venue, they secured a solid 2–0 win against the English side.
In 2018 and 2025, the clubs exchanged victories. “The Reds” are considered nominal favorites. But they seem to have completely lost momentum — backing the visitors with a draw no bet looks like the right call.
Prediction for the match: PSG to win with 0.0 handicap.
