Leuven have clearly decided that their business for the season is already done. OHL obviously do not set themselves any ambitions greater than simple survival. Last year, they finished 12th both after the regular season and later in the group that formally competed for the final European qualification place. This season, the script has clearly repeated itself, and this time it looks as though the players simply stopped competing once spring arrived. The key objective was achieved in the first part of the campaign, when they collected 34 points — two more than S.V. Zulte Waregem — which sent that side into the relegation quartet instead. OHL’s recent performances certainly support the idea that urgency disappeared the moment survival was effectively secured, with intensity and consistency both dropping noticeably. At home they have at least remained somewhat competitive, but the overall trajectory has been one of a team already mentally on holiday. With the threat of relegation removed, defeats began piling up one after another. They finally managed a draw against K.V.C. Westerlo, but then immediately returned to losing ways with another defeat against Standard Liège.

Antwerp do not carry that nickname by accident. This is a club with a proud history and, crucially, one that as recently as 2023 won every major domestic trophy in Belgium, including their first league title since 1957. But they failed to stay at the top. A year ago, they finished only fifth and even lost the playoff for a UEFA Conference League spot to Royal Charleroi S.C.. This season became even more disappointing. Antwerp have at least shown occasional flashes of the quality expected from a club of their stature, particularly when facing similarly placed opposition in recent months. Still, the lack of stability has been their defining issue, making it difficult to trust them fully despite having the stronger squad on paper. In the cup, they reached the semi-finals and even won the first leg 2-0 against R.S.C. Anderlecht, only to collapse with a 0-4 defeat in the return match. In the league, things looked even worse, with just 35 points after 30 rounds and a disappointing 10th-place position. True, in April they managed a string of wins among the mid-table sides. But then came a shocking 0-5 humiliation against Standard Liège, followed by another defeat to Charleroi, this time without even scoring.
In March, OHL recorded their first win in this fixture in five years. However, they have already since returned to losing against Antwerp. The matchup is viewed as nearly even, but Antwerp have looked the stronger side this spring overall. Back the visitors with a draw no bet selection.
