Leeds take on the visitors Sheffield United in the round 10 match of English Championship. The match will be played on Friday, October 18th at Elland Road (Leeds).
Leeds once again raise doubts about their potential. The "Whites," after their long-awaited return to the Premier League, spent a few seasons there, only truly impressing during their first year under Bielsa. So, their relegation to the Championship wasn't a huge surprise, but expectations were high for an ambitious club to make a quick return. They made a serious effort, but in the regular season, they fell short against Leicester and, surprisingly, Ipswich, with the playoff final going to Southampton. Despite this, Daniel Farke was given another chance. However, he's not making the most of it — there have already been defeats, not only in the League Cup to Middlesbrough but also to potential rivals like Burnley. They have as many draws as they do wins — four each. Recent draws include matches against Norwich (1-1) and Sunderland (2-2).

Under Wilder's guidance, the "Blades" earned promotion to the Premier League during his previous tenure and even managed to stay for a second season. So, when it became clear less than a year ago that Heckingbottom wasn’t getting the job done, the newly-promoted Premier League side brought Chris back. He couldn't do much to turn things around last season, and his old-new team dropped out of the top division. However, things are going much better in the Championship, where the team is among the leaders, remaining unbeaten (they seem to have intentionally let go of the League Cup, losing to their second opponent, Barnsley), winning two-thirds of their league games. This autumn, they even managed five wins with a 0-0 draw against Derby County, which helped them climb to the top of the table.
Leeds has won three of the last four matches, including both recent encounters. However, the clubs haven't met since 2021. The "Peacocks" are considered the favorites at home, but the visitors are showing strong form, especially in September — I believe they won’t lose.
Prediction for the match: Sheffield United not to lose (X2).
