Two years ago, KR Reykjavik finished fourth in the league, and last year, they finished sixth. In the current Icelandic championship, the team is only in seventh place, but they are just three points away from the coveted top-6, and there is still a long way to go until the end of the regular season. The "Black and Whites" have not won in the league for four consecutive rounds. However, the match against Fylkir is an excellent opportunity to break their losing streak and start a winning one. When making a prediction for this match, I rely more on the visitors than on the "Black and Whites." As they say, you have to choose the lesser of two evils.

And currently, even against today's "Black and Whites," Fylkir's players look like the underdogs. Eight losses in 11 rounds, with almost twice as many goals conceded as scored. The start for the "Fylkismenn" has been simply dreadful, with only one point earned in seven rounds. At least, they have started winning at home. I should note that by "home," I mean their stadium, not their city (since half of the teams in the Icelandic league are based in Reykjavik). So far, Fylkir has lost all their away matches in the league: to Akranes (1-5), Fram (1-2), KA Akureyri (2-4), Hafnarfjörður (1-3), and Vikingur (2-5). I believe they will lose again in the upcoming derby.
Both of these capital teams are not impressive this season. The bookmakers favor the home team, and I tend to agree with them. The visitors currently have five points fewer in their tally, and they generally do not earn points on the road. KR Reykjavik has been stronger than their opponents in three out of the last four head-to-head matches, including the previous home game (2-0) and the away game in the current season (4-3). My prediction for the upcoming derby is a win for the home team.
