Kosovo take on the visitors Turkey in the final match of FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification. The match will be played on Tuesday, March 31st at Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri (Pristina).
Kosovo have only recently been participating in official tournaments. However, they had a decent level of talent from the very beginning, even if not all players live and play in their home enclave. Previously, their campaigns were average at best, but last year they managed to finish second in their group — 11 points from 6 matches against Switzerland national football team, Slovenia national football team and Sweden national football team were enough. As a result, the team advanced to the playoffs. Turkey will be the clear favorites here. The “Janissaries” appointed Vincenzo Montella ahead of the European Championship. So far, there have been only three meetings. Both in a friendly in 2014 and in the qualification campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the “Janissaries” came out victorious. It is hard to believe that home advantage and motivation will outweigh the class and experience of the visitors. Turkey are expected to win this match.
