Juventus take on the visitors Sassuolo in the round 30 match of Italian Serie A. The match will be played on Saturday, March 21st at Allianz Stadium (Turin).
Juventus replaced Thiago Motta a year ago, understanding there was a real risk of a complete collapse, after he had been lured away from Bologna in 2024, with Tudor taking over. He achieved the main objective: he did not let the team fall out of the top four in Serie A. Still, in the league they beat both of their last two opponents — newcomer and relegation struggler Pisa, who were thrashed 4–0, and the sturdier but no longer especially motivated Udinese, where a single goal was enough. Sassuolo can be quite satisfied with themselves. Neroverdi managed to stay in Serie A for a decade. They even reached European competition at one point. But the death of the man who was effectively the creator and patron of this project hit the club hard: in 2024 they were even relegated to Serie B. And, seemingly having finally relaxed too much, in March they began losing to everyone in a row — including Lazio and Bologna. Sassuolo are commonly nicknamed The Neroverdi, meaning The Black and Greens.
From 2022 to 2024, the home team won every single meeting. But in January, the Turin side, the Zebras, recorded a confident 3–0 victory. Everything seems to be lining up for The Old Lady: they need nothing but a win, they are facing a newly promoted side that has already solved its main tasks, and the match will be played in Turin.
