Juventus take on the visitors Atalanta in the round 5 match of Italian Serie A. The match will be played on Saturday, September 27th at Allianz Stadium, Turin.
Juventus lifted the Cup in 2024 and climbed to third place in Serie A — yet they still parted ways with Allegri, and then reshaped the squad again the following summer. However, the gamble on Thiago Motta turned out to be a failure. Fortunately, Tudor managed to finish 4th, edging Ranieri’s revitalized Roma by a single point. That secured another Champions League campaign, where they started with a spectacular 4-4 draw against Borussia Dortmund. Earlier in Serie A, after narrow wins over Parma and Genoa, they enjoyed a thrilling victory against Inter, winning 4-3 with a stoppage-time goal. But against Verona, points were dropped with only a 1-1 draw where everyone expected a win. Juventus have now scored at least two goals in three of their last four matches, showing strong attacking potential. At the same time, defensive gaps remain a concern, as they have conceded in every league game so far.

Atalanta are not enjoying the smoothest start to a new era. The Bergamo side had long been guided by Gasperini. Gian Piero left on a high, securing third place in Serie A and reaching the Champions League playoffs. But this year he chose to move on and took charge of Roma. He was replaced by Juric, who in August only managed 1-1 draws with Pisa and Parma. After the international break, they finally celebrated a win, and a big one — 4-1 against modest Lecce. Yet in the Champions League they had no response to PSG’s four goals. In the last league round against Torino, Atalanta finally impressed: a 3-0 win with Krstović scoring twice. All goals came in a short span between the 30th and 38th minutes, after which the score remained unchanged until the final whistle. Still, inconsistency has been a recurring issue, as they failed to win away in three of their last four attempts. Their defensive line also looks shaky against stronger opposition, which raises doubts ahead of this trip to Turin.
In the last five meetings, each side has claimed just one victory. Tudor has worked longer with his squad, and this will be a home match for Juventus. The bet is on his team to win in Turin.
Prediction for the match: Juventus to win.
