Inter take on the visitors Bode/Glimt in the second leg of UEFA Champions League round of 1/16-finals. First leg result: 1-3. The match will be played on Tuesday, February 24th at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) (Milan).
Inter were already aiming for at least a treble last season. In the end, everything then finished with a chain of failures, capped by a 0–5 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, which was Simone Inzaghi’s last match as head coach. So now, already under Chivu, despite confident progress on the domestic scene (they are already in the cup semifinals and lead the league outright), it is hard not to wonder whether the Italians might step on the same rake again by chasing several targets at once. After all, there is also the Champions League, where, having started well with four wins over weaker opponents, Inter then capitulated in succession against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal. Only when closing the league phase, in a match with no particular tournament significance, did the Nerazzurri defeat Borussia Dortmund in Dortmund. Recently, Inter have still been managing to control matches in Serie A, showing consistency and balance. However, the schedule density raises questions about whether they can maintain the same intensity in all competitions.

Bodø/Glimt have succeeded once again. The Yellow Horde were not highly regarded in Norway until quite recently. Then they managed to become four-time Eliteserien champions in five seasons and, a year ago, reached the Europa League semifinals. True, they finished the 2025 domestic campaign in second place, as Viking proved slightly stronger. However, the clear priority then was the Champions League, where they finally broke into the main stage, having crushed Sturm 5–0 in qualifying. After that, though, there were three draws and three defeats, and it seemed the fairy tale was over — the Scandinavians went more than a month without real competitive practice and met Manchester City and Atletico in January. Then came the heroics: a 3–1 home win over the English side and a 2–1 victory in Madrid. Last week, at home, they managed to create another sensation, exchanging goals in the first half and then scoring twice more after the break. Their recent run shows growing confidence and belief in big matches. Now they can even afford a narrow defeat in Milan.
Before last week, the clubs had never faced each other. Nerazzurri must at least try to reach the next round. At home, with their experience and class, they should win with a handicap of -1.5 goals.
Prediction for the match: Inter to win with -1.5 handicap.
