Inter take on the visitors Bayern Munich in the second leg of UEFA Champions League round of quarterfinals. First leg result: 2-1. The match will be played on Wednesday, April 16th at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan.
Inter reclaimed the Scudetto last season under Simone Inzaghi, their first Serie A title since the Conte era. This year, however, they’ve already suffered one setback — unlike previous campaigns, Inzaghi’s men lost the Supercoppa final to Milan. Coincidentally, they also drew 1-1 with their city rivals in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal, though they remain well-positioned to reach the final. In the league, Inter continue to lead the chase, keeping Napoli and the rest of the pack at a comfortable distance. Their Champions League run has also been impressive — they won six games and collected 16 points in the group stage, then calmly dispatched Feyenoord in the Round of 16. The Dutch side, who had knocked out Milan in February, were beaten 2-0 both in Rotterdam and in Milan. In the first leg in Munich, Inter edged out a narrow win, 2-1, showing maturity and clinical finishing in key moments. Lautaro Martínez continued his excellent scoring form, while the midfield controlled the tempo. Inter have now won five of their last six matches in all competitions.

Bayern now have no choice but to go all in for victory. The Bavarians had a disappointing campaign last season — Harry Kane, like at Tottenham, ended the year without silverware. But this time, it looks like the English striker is finally on track to lift a major title. They were eliminated from the DFB-Pokal back in 2024 after a home loss to Bayer Leverkusen. However, they’ve overtaken Xabi Alonso’s team in the Bundesliga and now look set to claim the Meisterschale with several games to spare. In Europe, Bayern picked up five wins in the group stage and narrowly got past Celtic — they were trailing into stoppage time in the second leg after a 2-1 win in Glasgow. Their response in the Round of 16 was much stronger, comfortably beating Leverkusen 3-0 and 2-0. In the first leg against Inter, Thomas Müller came off the bench to equalize after Lautaro’s opener, but the visitors netted again to take the lead. Bayern have now conceded in five straight Champions League games, raising concerns about their defense. Still, with the firepower of Kane, Sané, and Musiala, they remain dangerous.
The German giants have won five of their previous meetings with Inter. However, the Italians claimed the most important one — the 2010 Champions League final, where they triumphed under José Mourinho. Bayern might be slightly favored by the bookmakers. But that only makes backing Simone Inzaghi’s side more appealing — they’re unlikely to perform worse at home than they did in Germany. We’re backing Inter with a draw no bet option.
Prediction for the match: Inter to win with 0.0 handicap.
