Inter take on the visitors AC Milan in the round 12match of Italian Serie A. The match will be played on Sunday, November 23rd at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) (Milan).
Inter have consistently managed to deliver strong results despite the financial difficulties that once drove Conte away. Inzaghi, who replaced him, even won the Scudetto in 2024 and the following season pushed for a treble until the very end, but the team eventually ran out of steam — finishing the year trophyless and losing 0–5 to PSG in the Champions League final. That match marked the end of Simone’s tenure. He was replaced by Chivu, a relatively inexperienced coach but a long-time club figure. His Club World Cup campaign was disappointing, yet Inter have started the new Champions League season in impressive fashion. They also entered the international break at the top of Serie A, although sharing first place with Roma and already having suffered three defeats alongside eight wins. Their strong attacking tempo and ability to rebound after setbacks have been notable early in the season, signalling that they remain a major force in the title race. Even with occasional lapses, their overall consistency has kept them among the league’s most reliable sides.

Milan chose to reunite with a coach who had previously brought trophies to the club. Rossoneri enjoyed an excellent spell under Pioli, but in 2024 the decision was made to refresh the coaching staff — a move that backfired completely, as Paulo Fonseca lasted only until December amid dreadful results. Even Sérgio Conceição, who started brightly by winning the Italian Super Cup, soon collapsed across all competitions, exiting the Champions League early, finishing only eighth in Serie A, and ending with a defeat in the Coppa Italia final. To rescue the situation, Allegri returned to San Siro after his break following the Juventus departure… only to begin his new tenure with a 1–2 home loss to newly promoted Cremonese! Still, by November Milan climbed to first place. Issues remain, however. After drawing with Parma despite leading 2–0 — their third draw in four matches — they slipped to third. They now trail both Roma and Inter by just two points, keeping the top of the table extremely tight. Their relative defensive stability and improved home form have helped them stay competitive, though their tendency to drop points in winning positions remains concerning.
Milan are unbeaten in five consecutive derbies, with three wins and two draws, including the latest meeting — the second leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal. We will take the risk and assume that the nominal hosts will prevail — backing an Inter victory.
Prediction for the match: Inter to win.
