Motherwell managed to improve significantly. The Steelworkers are not the kind of club you can expect significant success from. No, they were champions and won cups, but the last such success came in the early 90s. Now, the ceiling of their ambitions seemed to be maintaining their “residence” in the elite division of Scotland. As it was last season, when, having collected 43 points, they finished in 9th place.
