Getafe struggled for most of the autumn campaign. They started collecting points steadily, mixing home draws (including one against Barcelona) with crucial away victories. They also made a deep cup run before suffering a heavy 0-5 defeat to Atlético in February. However, they bounced back immediately, edging Alavés 1-0 for another vital three points. Getafe’s newfound defensive stability and efficiency in tight games have made them a difficult opponent to break down.
The last six meetings have alternated wins between the two teams. In November, Girona secured a 1-0 away victory. It’s hard to believe Girona will justify their favorite status, even at home. Betting on the visitors to avoid defeat seems like the best option.
