Everton vs West Ham Prediction 29 September 2025

Everton take on the visitors West Ham in the round 6 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Monday, September 29th at Hill Dickinson Stadium (Liverpool).

Everton had spent several years focused solely on the battle for survival, a task Sean Dyche twice managed to accomplish. But as soon as new investors came into the project last season, Sean was dismissed and replaced by a local legend, David Moyes. In the end, they managed to produce some decent football and respectable results, finishing 13th with 48 points. Now, finally moving into their new stadium and strengthening the squad, including the loan of Jack Grealish, the team has taken a big step forward. True, there was a false start with a 0-1 defeat to Leeds — but after that came victories. Only against Aston Villa in September did they fail to score, ending in a goalless draw. The Merseyside derby against Liverpool was also solid, especially in the second half, though it ended in a narrow 1-2 loss. This week in the League Cup, however, Mykolenko and company surprisingly fell 0-2 to Wolves without much of a fight. Still, Everton’s overall play looks much more balanced compared to previous years. The attack has become sharper, and their new depth gives them more options across competitions.

West Ham continue to disappoint. The Hammers, under Moyes, had won a European trophy in the Conference League. But two summers ago the Scot was replaced by the younger Julen Lopetegui, who was also handed a host of new signings. Julen lasted just half a season before failing miserably. And even under Graham Potter, the results were mediocre at best: a 14th-place finish with 43 points, despite ambitious plans to compete for Europe. The manager was kept on, but the new campaign has been poor: a 2-3 League Cup defeat to Wolves, who are far from impressive themselves, and a string of Premier League losses, starting with a 0-3 collapse to newly promoted Sunderland. In the last round against Crystal Palace they did equalize in the second half, but conceded again and finished without goals once more. West Ham’s defensive issues remain a huge problem, as they have already conceded heavily against mid-table sides. Their lack of consistency in attack makes it hard to see where points will come from.

Both meetings last season ended in draws. The Blues need to bounce back after a couple of setbacks, and this home match against an out-of-form opponent looks like the perfect chance — we expect them to win.

Prediction for the match: Everton to win.
