Dynamo Kyiv take on the visitors Noah in the round 6 match of UEFA Conference League – League Phase. The match will be played on Thursday, December 18th at Motor Lublin Arena (Lublin).
Dynamo Kyiv became UPL champions last season after a long pause. Yes, they performed poorly in European competitions and lost the cup final to Shakhtar on penalties, but it was still an undeniable success. Thanks to that title, Shovkovskyi retained Surkis’ support for quite a long time, even though in the new season there were only isolated successes, such as wins over Hamrun Spartans in the first round of Champions League qualification or knocking the Miners out of the cup. Overall, however, things were bad, and later they turned disastrous. After a 0–2 defeat to Omonia, which became the third loss in a row, the coach was dismissed. His replacement in an interim role, Kostiuk, also started with a 1–2 defeat at home against weak UPL newcomers Poltava. Still, Kudrivka and Veres were beaten. Against Fiorentina, though, it ended in another loss, even if it was a narrow 1–2. Recent results show that Dynamo Kyiv are struggling to find stability and confidence. At the same time, playing at home often brings an extra push, and the team usually tries to respond after a poor run.

Noah could not cope with the double workload. The White-Blacks are a young project, but one that has already been through a lot. They had previously managed solid results, such as finishing second in the league and winning the national cup. Last season, however, stands apart: their first-ever championship, which together with cup success turned into a “golden double,” and participation in the main round of the Conference League. As title holders, the Armenians started the summer in the Champions League and even got past Buducnost. Then problems followed: two defeats in the next round against Ferencvaros, and in the Europa League they drew twice with Lincoln Red Imps before losing on penalties. Dropping into the current tournament, the Yerevan side initially pleased their fans by knocking out Olimpija Ljubljana with two wins and starting the main round with a 1–0 victory over Rijeka. Later, however, they even lost at home to Sigma Olomouc, and away drew 1–1 with Universitatea Craiova and Aberdeen. Against Legia, they did manage to secure an important victory. Lately, Noah’s form has been uneven, with strong performances followed by setbacks. Away from home in particular, they have found it difficult to maintain consistency across matches.
The Ukrainian historic giant has not had a chance to face this young representative from the South Caucasus even in friendly matches. The Ukrainians will still try to “slam the door” on their way out. We are backing them, but with a 0 handicap.
Prediction for the match: Dynamo Kyiv to win with 0.0 handicap.
