Crystal Palace take on the visitors Nottingham in the round 35 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Monday, April 5th at Selhurst Park (London).
Crystal Palace had established themselves as a solid mid-table Premier League side under Roy Hodgson. But over time, the club's current investors began demanding more ambition. The first attempt to move forward — hiring Patrick Vieira — failed, and even Oliver Glasner, who started well after taking over midway through last season, struggled to find consistency after the summer break. However, by winter, the team started to click again, and they’re now firmly mid-table with no relegation concerns. With safety secured, they’ve clearly shifted their attention to the FA Cup, where they stunned Aston Villa with a 3-0 win in the semifinals. The chance to lift silverware has energized the squad, but it may also lead to squad rotation and a drop in league focus.

Nottingham Forest are in danger of ending the campaign on a sour note. The Tricky Trees have certainly improved overall in recent years. Once back-to-back winners of the European Cup, they only recently clawed their way out of the Championship. Last season, it was the arrival of Nuno Espírito Santo that narrowly kept them in the Premier League, finishing 17th thanks largely to three hopeless teams beneath them. This year, at their best, Wood and company even climbed into the top three and made a surprising FA Cup run. But their semifinal against Manchester City ended in a clear 0-2 defeat, and recent league form has dipped badly. Losses to Aston Villa, Everton, and most recently Brentford (0-2) have raised concerns. Their last win came against a struggling Tottenham side, and confidence is fading just when it matters most.
Forest are unbeaten in their last eight official meetings with Palace. They edged the reverse fixture in October 1-0 thanks to a solitary goal from Wood, following a string of draws. Palace might be considered favourites on paper, but the visitors have far more motivation. Expect Nottingham Forest to come away with at least a point.
Prediction for the match: Nottingham not to lose (X2).
