They had no serious problems even against the main outsider, Wolverhampton, in the previous round. Recent league form suggests growing confidence and better control over matches. At Stamford Bridge, results have been particularly convincing, reinforcing their status as favorites.

Leeds have clear objectives for this season. The Whites earned promotion to, and stayed in, the Premier League under Bielsa. But at the first serious difficulties the iconic Argentine was dismissed, and by 2023 the club had already been relegated.
