Celta Vigo take on the visitors Real Madrid in the round 10 match of Spanish LaLiga. The match will be played on Saturday, October 19th at Estadio de Balaídos (Vigo).
Celta have ambitions, and they still remember their recent run in the Europa League, where they were only stopped in the late stages of the playoffs in the spring. However, after that, the team mostly fought for survival in La Liga, frequently changing managers during the season. This was the case last season as well when the club took a long time to admit that bringing Benítez to Balaídos was a mistake. With Rafa, the team spent most of the time hovering around the relegation zone or close to it, but with Giráldez, they eventually rose to 13th place. This new campaign started with a couple of wins, but since then, they have only managed two more victories, including a dramatic win with nine men against Las Palmas in the last round, and a draw with Girona. The other four matches have ended in losses.

Real Madrid has not had the most convincing start to the season. The "Galacticos" were very strong last season. They only faltered in the Copa del Rey, but achieved success in other competitions, winning new titles in the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga (securing the championship early), and in the Champions League, where they often faced tough challenges. Over the summer, the team strengthened, but in the classic Florentino Pérez style: despite signing Mbappé and Endrick, Kroos and Nacho remained unchanged, and Carvajal suffered a long-term injury. So, it’s no surprise that there have been some slips, even though they've already secured another trophy in the form of the UEFA Super Cup. In the Champions League, after a hard-fought win over Stuttgart, they suffered a loss to Lille. In La Liga, they have managed to stay undefeated, but there have already been three draws, all away from home and all ending 1-1, against Mallorca, Las Palmas, and Atlético in late September’s derby.
In their last 12 meetings, Celta has only managed one draw, losing all the other games. Real Madrid has already had too many slip-ups. We predict they will win this away match.
Prediction for the match: Real Madrid to win.
