Borussia Dortmund take on the visitors PSV in the second leg of UEFA Champions League 1/8-finals. First leg result: 1-1. The match will be played on Wednesday, February 13th at Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund).
In the Round of 16, Borussia managed to top the toughest group. For some, it was a surprise, for others not. But the fact remains. Specifically, in three home matches of the group stage, the Yellow and Blacks never lost: a victory over Newcastle (2-0), draws with Milan (0-0) and PSG (0-0). are PSV stronger than the teams listed? No, of course not. Therefore, after a 1-1 draw in the Netherlands, Borussia's chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament did not diminish, but rather increased. Now they have to win at home with the support of their fans and move forward. Dortmund fans know how to cheer very well, we know that! There aren't any overly serious personnel issues for the Germans before the second leg, the team will take the field in full force and is unlikely to lose.

PSV are having a splendid season, that's a fact. They lead the championship by a huge margin and have made it to the Champions League knockout stage for the first time in a long time. Moreover, in the first match against Borussia, the Dutch looked better than their opponent, outplaying them in xG: 1.53 versus 0.90. But they couldn't finish off their opponent. And this couldn't finish off might ultimately be not enough to advance to the quarter-finals. Because, despite all the respect and sympathy for the Dutch, they are inferior to the Germans in terms of class and experience in the Champions League. And in the group stage of the tournament, PSV could only beat the crisis-hit Sevilla away. They drew with Lorient in France (1-1) and suffered a heavy defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates (0-4).
PSV are indeed good this season. And I fully admit that the Dutch may not lose to the Yellow and Blacks again, the second leg might end in a draw, and the match could ultimately go into extra time or even a penalty shootout. But I don't believe in Borussia's defeat at all. At home, Dortmund has suffered only two defeats in their last 20 European matches. In the current Champions League campaign, the Germans haven't lost at home at all, while PSV has only managed one away win out of three attempts. I think it's not worth overestimating the visitors because of their results in the Eredivisie. Because both the opponents in the league and the players from Eindhoven are inferior to the Yellow and Blacks in class, no matter how you slice it. My prediction is 1X + Over 1.5 Goals. The visitors are quite capable of scoring, but winning is unlikely. And the hosts can probably reach the required total on their own.
Prediction for the match: Borussia Dortmund not to lose and Over 1.5 scored goals.
