Bayern Munich take on the visitors PSG n the second leg of UEFA Champions League semifinals. First leg result: 4-5. The match will be played on Wednesday, May 6th at Allianz Arena, Munich.
Bayern Munich went through a shocking dip the season before last. After such a giant ended up without trophies, top-tier managers were reluctant to take over, so the club turned — partly out of necessity — to Vincent Kompany, who had just been relegated from the Premier League with Burnley FC. However, Kompany immediately restored the Bundesliga title at the first attempt. Now his side are simply dominating domestically. Their current form has been extremely consistent, with confident wins coming both at home and away. Even in tighter matches, they have shown the ability to control the tempo and secure results. In the cup, they also comfortably beat Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In the UEFA Champions League, the Germans have mostly had no serious issues — only a trip to Arsenal FC ended in defeat. Even in the return quarterfinal against Real Madrid, after winning in Madrid, they were trailing at home but still managed to finish with a victory over “Los Blancos.”

Paris Saint-Germain have once again picked up momentum as the season progressed. “Les Parisiens” were also slow to impress last year, but eventually won every possible trophy in 2025 except the Club World Cup, while Ousmane Dembélé even claimed the Ballon d’Or. This season also had its struggles, highlighted by a cup exit to Paris FC. Recently, however, their performances have improved significantly, especially in high-pressure matches. Their attacking play has become more fluid, leading to dominant wins against strong opposition. By mid-spring, they had pulled clear of Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1. In the Champions League, they again had to start the knockout stage in February, and faced difficulties against AS Monaco — trailing 0-2 early away before turning it around, and then drawing at home. After that, they crushed both Chelsea FC (8-2 on aggregate) and Liverpool FC (2-0 in both legs). Against the Germans, they were leading 5-2 but ultimately settled for only a narrow advantage. Still, even a draw away would be enough for overall success.
Bayern have won five consecutive Champions League meetings, including in November. The French side responded by eliminating them in the Club World Cup during the summer, a match in which Jamal Musiala suffered an injury he has yet to fully recover from. The Germans look very strong and are unlikely to repeat their away mistakes. Back Bayern to beat PSG at home.
Prediction for the match: Bayern Munich to win.
