Bayer Leverkusen take on the visitors Bayern Munich in the semifinal match of DFB Pokal. The match will be played on Wednesday, April 22nd at BayArena (Leverkusen).

Bayern are currently operating at a very high level. “Die Roten” last season, already under Vincent Kompany, reclaimed the Bundesliga title. They started the summer with a Super Cup victory and by spring had effectively wrapped up the league race. Their current form is dominant, with the team consistently winning and showing superiority over most opponents. They look confident both defensively and offensively, controlling matches from start to finish. As expected, in the last round they secured another win — against strong opposition in VfB Stuttgart — and officially confirmed the title, although it had long seemed inevitable. Their main focus has clearly been the UEFA Champions League, where after reaching the quarter-finals they faced Real Madrid. Despite difficulties — conceding after scoring twice away — they held on thanks to key saves, and even after falling behind at home, they still managed to win. In the cup, they often play more freely, conceding but simply scoring more than their opponents.
“The Rekordmeister” won three times in 2025, but in March the teams shared a 1–1 draw. The visitors are simply stronger and in excellent form. Bayern should mark their title-winning campaign with another victory, likely by at least a one-goal margin.
