Atalanta take on the visitors Juventus in the round 32 match of Italian Serie A. The match will be played on Saturday, April 11th at New Balance Arena (Bergamo).
Atalanta became one of Italy’s top sides under Gian Piero Gasperini, but in the summer he decided to end his long tenure. The club made a poor choice by trusting Ivan Jurić, which led to a disastrous start to the season. Things later improved, and in the UEFA Champions League they not only reached the playoffs but also produced a comeback against Borussia Dortmund, thrashing them at home after a 0-2 defeat away (while FC Bayern Munich remain on another level). In the cup, the first semifinal away to SS Lazio ended in a high-scoring draw. However, in Serie A they failed to catch the early leaders, and February–March brought a clear dip in form. Before the international break, they managed to beat Hellas Verona, and after the restart they also defeated US Lecce, but now they face a much stronger and more experienced opponent. Their recent form shows signs of recovery after a difficult period. At the same time, inconsistency throughout the season remains a concern.

Juventus have once again changed their coach mid-season. The “Old Lady” even parted ways with Massimiliano Allegri immediately after winning the cup in 2024. His replacement, Thiago Motta, failed completely in Turin, but Igor Tudor managed to secure at least a 4th-place finish last spring. However, the Croatian did not achieve more and was dismissed in the autumn amid a prolonged crisis. Luciano Spalletti seemed to stabilize the situation, but February brought new problems: elimination from the Champions League by Galatasaray S.K. and a 0-3 cup loss to Atalanta. In Serie A, there were also slip-ups, including a high-scoring draw with US Sassuolo Calcio at the end of March. After the restart, they produced a solid 2-0 win over Genoa C.F.C.. Their recent results show improved stability, especially in defense. Overall, Juventus appear more balanced compared to earlier in the season.
In the last four official matches, Atalanta wins have alternated with draws. The visitors from Turin look solid and are considered slight favorites. However, the hosts also have their strengths — the pick is both teams to score.
Prediction for the match: Both teams to score – yes.
