Arsenal take on the visitors Tottenham in the round 12 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Sunday, November 23rd at Emirates Stadium (London).
Arsenal remain one of the historic giants of English football, though the decline began during the final Wenger years and only reversed once their former captain Arteta took charge. Under his leadership, the club gradually returned to the top tier of the Premier League hierarchy, becoming the main challenger to Manchester City. Even so, Arteta had never previously finished above his mentor Guardiola — until last season, when City endured a genuine slump and Liverpool under Slot emerged as the new dominant force. This year, however, Arsenal have looked strong across all competitions, dropping points only against the two previous Premier League champions for a long stretch. Their most recent match brought a clear setback: despite leading, the league leaders conceded twice — unusually many for them — and were held to a 2–2 draw by newly promoted Sunderland thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser. They remain in first place, but their advantage over City has narrowed considerably. Their consistency throughout the opening phase of the season has been impressive, yet lapses in concentration like the last round show how tight the title race may become. Even so, their overall structure and control still place them among the most reliable sides in the division.

Tottenham started the season under yet another new manager. The Spurs finally broke a long-running footballing joke six months ago by winning their first trophy in ages — the Europa League. Yet at the same time their Premier League campaign collapsed spectacularly, finishing 17th with 38 points, averaging exactly one point per match. As a result, even before the European final, the manager already knew he would be replaced, and Brentford’s Frank was brought in to take over. His debut nearly turned into a triumph: Tottenham led 2–0 in the UEFA Super Cup before allowing PSG to level late and eventually losing on penalties. Since then, their results have been decent rather than exceptional. In the Champions League they have alternated wins and draws, while domestically they have collected five victories and 18 points — just one fewer than Sunderland, who sit fourth, and only one more than tenth-placed Crystal Palace. Their inconsistency is still evident, especially given their early League Cup exit after losing to Newcastle. Nonetheless, their attacking approach under Frank has made them competitive in most fixtures, and their away performances have shown signs of improvement. Maintaining rhythm, however, remains a challenge for a team still adapting to a new system.
Arsenal have won five of the last six North London derbies, including each of the last three, with only one draw in that stretch. Another Arteta victory over their biggest rival is widely expected. Considering both sides’ defensive strength — especially from the hosts — the match leans toward under 3.0 total goals.
Prediction for the match: Under 3.0 scored goals.
