With a clear gap from both their nearest rivals in the table, they are set to end the season in 6th place. Their King Cup journey also ended at the hands of Al-Ittihad. Still, back-to-back wins, including a recent victory over Al-Riyadh, have given the side a more positive finish.

Al-Ittihad ended a 14-year title drought by winning the Saudi Pro League in 2023. Determined to defend their crown, the club heavily reinforced their squad by signing Luiz Felipe, Jota Neves, N’Golo Kanté, and most notably Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema. However, Benzema’s lack of effort drew widespread criticism, and the campaign ended in disappointment with a 5th-place finish and just 54 points. The club responded by appointing Laurent Blanc as manager, and he’s largely lived up to expectations. While not flawless, Al-Ittihad have led the table for much of the season and are still fighting for silverware, with the King Cup final against newly promoted Al-Qadisiyah still to come. They head into this clash on the back of a convincing 3-1 win over Al-Raed — their fourth straight victory.
After two previous wins by Al-Shabab, it was Benzema and company who claimed both meetings in 2025. While the hosts are considered slight favorites, the visitors are in fine form again. Backing Al-Ittihad to avoid defeat looks like a solid bet.
