Oulu have looked very poor so far. The Blues are a relatively young club, founded only in 2002. HJK are one of Finland’s most decorated and internationally recognized clubs. They've reached the highest stages of European football for a Finnish team and have a record 33 domestic league titles to their name. They had won the Veikkausliiga title every year since 2020… until last season, when they lost out to KuPS in the regular stage. In the championship round, not only did they fail to catch up, but Ilves also passed them in the standings. Expectations were high for a bounce-back this year, but they opened with three straight defeats. A solid winning run in late spring showed signs of recovery, and though their most recent match ended in a goalless draw, it came against reigning champions and current leaders KuPS — a result that can be seen as a positive.
