Aarhus take on the visitors Copenhagen in the round 31 match of Danish Superliga – Championship group. The match will be played on Tuesday, April 21st at Ceres Park (Aarhus).
Aarhus have remained a mid-table team, much like in previous years. Last season, they managed to finish third in the final standings, but that proved to be an exception, as confirmed by their exit from the Conference League at the hands of their first qualifying opponent, Club Brugge. The new season under Uwe Rösler was mediocre, though they ended up in the upper part of the table and moved to the championship group. However, their performance in the championship group was lackluster, seemingly putting all their energy and hopes into the cup, where they reached the final only to lose 0-1 to Silkeborg. Realizing there was nothing to fight for in the Superliga, the team merely dragged themselves to the end, losing to everyone. They faced SIF again, their cup final nemesis, but couldn't get revenge, losing 0-1 once more.

Copenhagen paying the price for their own success. The Lions finally made a serious impact in the Champions League, outperforming both Galatasaray and Manchester United to reach the knockout stage for only the second time in their history. However, in the round of 16, they were convincingly defeated in both legs by the eventual winners, Manchester City. The effort spent on their European campaign took its toll on the domestic front, where they were eliminated early from the cup and finished the first stage of the championship in third place. However, from late April, they managed a series of victories, allowing them to overtake their rivals in the race for the top spot. They played against one of these rivals, Midtjylland, in the last round, where they hoped to secure maximum points but instead suffered a painful defeat.
In October last year, the Whites drew with the champions, and in December, they even managed to defeat them. It was only in April that Neestrup's team managed a hard-fought 3-2 victory at home. The hosts are clearly struggling in the spring phase. Therefore, betting on the motivated visitors with a handicap of -1 goal seems like a solid choice.
Prediction for the match: Copenhagen to win with -1.0 handicap.
