Zalgiris hosts Ferencvaros in the second leg of the Champions League qualification quarterfinals. The match will be played on Tuesday, July 27th at LFF stadionas (Vilnius)
Zalgiris is strong in the domestic arena. This was confirmed by the victory both in the last championship and the results in the current draw, where the club keeps the lead despite the workload in European cups and the postponement of matches. At the very least, the Green-Whites managed not to disgrace themselves: they not only eliminated Linfield but managed to win both games (3-1 at home and 1-2 in Northern Ireland). But at the same time, Zalgiris managed to lose Diava and Uzela. Did the absence of these players affect the result in Budapest? A 0-2 defeat looks like a frank sentence, as the Green-Whites will have to win back against a very strong opponent.

Ferencvaros will start the new season in the Hungarian National Championship on the last day of this calendar month. But neither this nor the change of coach (Sergei Rebrov, who managed to become an idol in Budapest, left for the Middle East and was replaced by Peter Stoger) did not prevent the Green Eagles from showing a successful start in the Champions League qualification. However, the first opponents were quite modest. At the first stage, Fradi scored three goals in both matches against Pristina. And the Eagles showed a great game in the first leg against Zalgiris, opening the scoring already in the middle of the first half. And they scored the second goal in the 39th minute. After the break, the Hungarian club clearly slowed down, allowing the Balts to even level the game. All the same, everything had to end in thumping, but Uzuni missed the penalty on the 2nd added minute.
The first leg on July 20th was the first match between the champions of Hungary and Lithuania. Before that, they had never crossed paths in official or friendly games in their entire long history. The score will allow the Hungarians to play calmly, and even a minimal defeat will be a good result. But Ferencváros looks better in all respects, so it must win again.
Prediction for the match: Ferencvaros to win
