Wolverhampton Wanderers hosts Torino in the second leg of the Europa League qualification finals. The match will be played on Thursday, August 29th at Molineux Stadium (Wolverhampton)
Wolverhampton is a very ambitious project, which, fortunately, strengthens its business status in the football field: the team of Nunu Espirito Santos deserves to call itself the Premier League club in terms of the game quality. I will not tire of writing in the forecasts that Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the best in the world in terms of the quality of positional defense. It is confirmed by the first two rounds of the Premier League, where the Wolves played against top rivals: Leicester and Manchester United. Now let's talk about the Europa League and its significance for the Wolves. In the previous rounds, the opponents were very easy (Crusaders and Pyunik), and the Wolves eliminated them without any problems. In the first match against Torino, Wolverhampton achieved an excellent result - a 3-2 victory away. Wolverhampton needs to go to the main stage of the Europa League - it is a great chance for both players (to approve themselves in the European tournament) and club management (brand promotion through games with strong foreign clubs).

Torino achieved very good results in the last season: the team took seventh place and managed to break into the qualifications of the Europa League (Milan's removal from the European cups helped here). Walter Mazzari is clearly trying to focus on defense and compactness - for almost the entire past season, Torino used schemes with three central defenders (variations 3-5-2 and 3-4-3). It is also worth noting that Torino is very intense in pressure, and they took first place in terms of pressure intensity in last Serie A (their PPDA = 7.11). But their pressure cannot be called really effective. The game system in Torino's attack cannot be called good either - according to the expected goals in the last season, they took thirteenth place. This problem should be solved due to the arrival of several top coaches, but Torino clearly refers to the part of Serie A that got stuck in the 1970s.
I have almost no doubt that Wolverhampton will be in the group stage of the Europa League, but you should not expect an underestimation of the opponent either - I think that Nuno Espirito Santos will field the first eleven. Therefore, I see no reason why the more classy and well-organized Wolverhampton will not be able to beat Torino at home at the Molineux stadium. My prediction is the victory of the hosts.
Prediction for the match: Wolves to win
