Wisla take on the visitors Arka at the Stadion im. Henryka Reymana in the 1st tour of Ekstraklasa. The match will be played in Krakow on Saturday, July 21th.
Wisla has been one of the best clubs in their championship for the last several years but hasn`t been able to get to the highest places. The White Star finished the last season on the 6th place in the league with 55 points after 37 matches. Their offensive line used to show confident playing style and scored 51 goals but the defense had some problems and conceded 42 goals. Arka has been looking really solid in Ekstraklasa but had some problems with stability. Last season they were able to get in the finals of the national cup. In the league they finished on the 4th place in the bottom eight with 43 points to their credit after 37 matches. Their offensive line was playing quite strongly scoring 46 goals but the defensive line was making a lot of mistakes and allowed 48 goals. Last three matches for Arka ended with a 3-2 win over Legia, a 0-3 loss to Dinamo Bucuresti and a 1-1 draw against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
In their last match between them Arka was weaker and lost with a 2-3 score to Wisla. Now it`s hard to pick a favourite especially in the starting tour of the season but Wisla really should get the win in front of their home crowd.
