Werder Bremen hosts Borussia Dortmund in the German DFB Pokal 1/8 finals. The match will be played on Tuesday, February 4th at Weserstadion (Bremen)
Werder Bremen goes from bad to worse and drowns rapidly. The White-Greens lost in five of their last six matches and dropped to the relegation zone. Last weekend, they lost to Augsburg (2:1), despite the leadership in that game. Their shape is terrible, confidence is at a low level, and now they have to face one of the most formidable clubs at the most inopportune time. The head coach of the Bremeners, Florian Kofeldt, is under tremendous pressure, and there are great chances that he will be fired if he does not bring at least some results in the next couple of weeks. He is often criticized for tactics, and his squad is never the same for two games in a row. It is more like panic than managing a team.

Borussia Dortmund goes to Bremen with a streak of three victories in a row, so their confidence runs high. Last weekend they had an easy training match against Union Berlin (5-0) The BVB managed to remain invincible in 19 of their 20 cup games in history. They traditionally play well in this competition and always take it seriously. Their goal remains the same as in any year - to win.
Borussia has an excellent streak of performances in Bremen. The Yellow-Blacks lost only once in their last six visits, having won three times and tied twice. Given the current attacking strength of the Dortmunders (56 goals scored) and the weak defense of Werder Bremen (46 goals conceded), I think that it will not be difficult for the visitors to score twice in this match, even with the rotation of the squad.
Prediction for the match: Borussia Dortmund to score over 1.5 goals
