Watford take on the visitors Brighton & Hove Albion at the Vicarage Road in the 1st tour of the Premier League. The match will be played in the eponymous city Watford on Saturday, August 11th.
Watford had a disappointing last season and placed on the 14th place in the table in the end. However, they earned a reputation of a tough team who could compete even with the leaders of the Premier League. The Hornets have sold their players Mauro Zarate, Nordin Amrabat and Richarlison (sold for 45 millions euro) this summer and have bought Marc Navarro and Gerard Deulofeu instead them. They have enhanced their goalkeeping line too with Ben Foster. Watford have looked brilliant in the off-season friendly matches and lost none of their games (three wins, two draws).

Brighton & Hove Albion were a new team to the Premier League last season after a 30 year absence. In the end they were able to place 15th right after Watford in the table. The Seagulls have enhanced their squad a lot this summer with Alireza Jahanhakhsh, Percy Tau, Yves Bissouma, David Button, Bernardo and Florin Andone. The guys of Chris Hughton have had five friendly fixtures this summer and won only one in them (three draws, one loss).
In both their two matches last season the teams had a low total. The first match at the Vicarage Road ended with a 0-0 score and the second ended with a 1-0 win for Brighton & Hove Albion in front of their home crowd. It is likely that we will see only a few goals scored in the upcoming match too. Both teams have a lot of new players in the squad and need time to achieve the teamwork.
Prediction for the match: Under 2.5 goals scored.
