Villarreal take on the visitors Girona at the Estadio de la Ceramica in the 3rd tour of La Liga. The match will be played in the eponymous city Villarreal on Friday, August 31st.
Villarreal drew with a 0-0 score against Sevilla and looked pretty good overall last weekend. It`s worth noting that the teams looked quite equal and had a lot of goal attempts. In the second tour of La Liga Girona lost to Real Madrid but they were able to score the first goal in that fixture. Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid were stronger and were controlling the ball almost all the time but the Gironistes gave them a fair fight. The team of Eusebio Sacristan shocked their opponents by scoring the first goal. Villarreal got only point in the two starting matches of the new season which was a shock for their fans. However, the team looked pretty solid in the second tour fixture against Sevilla. Girona are a tough team but Villarreal needs to get three points desperately so El Submarino Amarillo are likely to win.
