Valletta hosts Ferencvaros in the second leg of the Champions League qualification quarterfinals. The match will be played on Tuesday, July 30th at Centenary Stadium (Ta' Qali)
Well, the fans and the management of the champion of Malta shouldn’t have any claims about the team’s results in this qualification! The team unexpectedly eliminated Dudelange from Luxembourg in the first round, and this is already a leap above the head! It was frankly stupid to expect the same decent resistance in the first match against Ferencvaros. But Valletta snapped as it could! It lost with a 1-3 score, conceding two stupid goals in the first half - an own goal and a goal from the penalty spot... And at the very end of the match, Valetta even scored the formidable opponent. I honestly expected much worse results. What should we expect in the return match? Well, it is unlikely that the Hungarian champion will somehow be frightened by the status of the away match, but I must say that the 3-1 score is not so reliable for the Hungarians, and this means that the visitors won’t relax.

Ferencvaros spoiled the picture a little at the end of the first match. It would have won the first match with a 3-0 score and could easily go to the return match in resort mode, but the advantage after the first match is 3-1, and the team needs to keep concentration in the return match! Ferenzvaros has a very active attack, which regularly hit the opponents' target throughout the past season at least 2-3 times per game, but at the same time, the defense is not strong, which we could see in the first match of these teams. The Hungarians somehow conceded even from modest Valletta... The current situation is similar to the first round of qualification. There the Hungarians won the first home match against Ludogorets, but the score was 2-1, not 3-1, and in the second match, the team did not slow down and inflicted another defeat to the Bulgarians (3-2)! And Ferencvaros is likely to win the return match against Valletta.
A good coefficient is offered on the champion of Hungary in this match, but it will fall closer to the beginning. So, it is better to take such a bet right now, and then observe how the coefficient subsides over time. My bet: Ferencvaros to win!
Prediction for the match: Ferencvaros to win
