Uruguay takes on the visitors Russia at “Cosmos Arena” in the matchday three of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group stage. The game will be played in Samara on Monday, June 25th.
Although Uruguay looked not that brilliant in two opening battles of the group stage, having broken quite humble teams of Egypt and Saudi Arabia with the same minimal 1:0 scoreline, I assume that the Uruguayans are saving their strength for the Play Offs tackles, trying to collect points on the group stage applying not many efforts. Thus, the forthcoming hosts may relax in the last encounter of the group stage, however, considering that this will be a clash deciding the destiny of the first position in the group, I believe Uruguay will tend to beat Russia as it is most probably that Spain will settle on the first place in Group B while Portugal will gain the second place, consequently, it’s better to have the Portuguese as the next opponent rather that the Spaniards.

Despite pale performance of the Uruguayans in the previous two games and excellent football of the Russians, the class of the first is much higher. “La Celeste” is not Egypt and Saudi Arabia, its defense is extremely experienced and tough which means that Russia is unlikely to score many goals if any. Secondly, the South Americans’ attack cannot also be compared to the one of the Egyptians and Saudis. Thus, I don’t believe that the Russians will manage to hold the star offense of Uruguay as defense is a weak point of the nominal visitors.
Hence, I assume that Uruguay will become the first team which will make troubles for the Russians at this Mundial.
