Union de Santa Fe take on the visitors Platense in the round 25 match of Argentine Liga Professional. The match will be played on Saturday, June 15th at Estadio 15 de Abril (Santa Fe).
Union once again fails to please their fans from Santa Fe. El Tate was founded at the beginning of the last century, but despite their long history, they haven't achieved much. Their only significant success, considering the lack thereof, was finishing as runners-up in 1979. Exactly 40 years later, they finally made their debut on the international stage, albeit in the Copa Sudamericana format. The main thing is that they manage to somewhat hold their ground in the Primera Division, although they have struggled recently. Last season, Unionistas finished in 22nd place. It was difficult to perform even worse, but they managed to do so. After a terrible start, with only one victory in 15 matches, it seemed like they turned things around with a 6-match unbeaten streak, earning 14 points. However, July began with a 0-1 loss against Atletico Tucuman and a 0-0 draw with Boca Juniors. They also failed to score against Talleres, but they shared the points in that match, which can be considered a positive for the team.

Platense under Martin Palermo have shown noticeable improvement. Los Calamares lost their place in the Primera Division in 1999 and eventually ended up in the semi-amateur third division of Argentina, where they spent a considerable amount of time. They gradually managed to return to the elite and have since established themselves there. They haven't achieved any notable accomplishments, for example, in last year's tournament, Marron finished in 19th position. Now, under the guidance of the legendary former striker (even if he didn't particularly excel in Europe), they have gradually improved, at least crossing the midpoint of the league table. Currently, their wins and losses, as well as goals scored and conceded, are roughly balanced. They started July with a couple of defeats against Lanus and Godoy Cruz, but then they secured a minimum victory against Sarmiento thanks to a single goal by Diaz early in the second half, which allowed them to climb to 13th place.
Platense won in 3 out of the last 4 matches, with Union coming out on top only once in March of last year. The hosts are considered the favorites in this matchup. However, both clubs have been scoring very few goals, so a bet on total under 2.0 goals seems reasonable.
Prediction for the match: Under 2.0 scored goal.
